Transfer and Contract
Since the involvement of player’s agent, petrol companies and the banks, the transfer prices of football players being increased and expensive, as well as in FM. The key in the transfer of players are careful and very selective before buying. First examine your squad, find the position and type of player that needs to be strengthened according to your tactics. Factors that can be used in squad judgement are players’ attributes, age, home grown rules, their development rate, injury vulnerability and assistant or coach report. My rule of thumb is see assistant report (if you have assistant manager which had excellent player’s ability and potential judgement) in your squad and see which position that doesn’t have minimum two players that at least have 3 or 3,5 stars rating.
Search players using your scout (minimum judging ability and potential 18) or using player search filter . Usually youth regen players (the players with cartoon face) from Arsenal, Man Utd, Inter, Juventus, Real Madrid and Barcelona (if you have no problem with signing fictional players from the game creation) are cheap and awesome. Always be mindful about your transfer budget, overall finance, loan debt, and total squad wage. Forget buying players from your rivals, even non-rival team in same league will give you extra price. Player value will be reasonable if he has been transfer listed / only one year or less left on his contract.
Once your bid accepted, you will face contract negotiation, watch for agent’s patience, patience value of the player agent is proportional to the amount of contract bidding opportunities. Usually the agent will give you overprice contract, bid with his previous contract value first and then do the bargaining process to reach agreement and remember do not be too stubborn. Be careful in choose player’s wage, match appearance and goal bonus, but you can attract the agent with contract clauses that you think would be difficult to happen. Assigning non-youth players from approach to sign method will require more expensive sign on fee since you don’t have to pay for transfer money.
To keep your desired players and staff stay in your club, try give them new contract before the contracts period run out (two years left for key players, one and a half year for the others, one year left for staff).
Work Permit
For non EU players who doesn’t have EU passport yet, use scout reports to find work permit information for certain players.
Home Gown
One of the rules in squad registration, player must have trained at least three years in your club (HG club) or same nation (HG nation). Each competition had different rules. Be sure your squad meet the rules in the squad registration in all competitions which you participate.
Youth Regen/ Intake
To get the best youth intake, try have the best training facilities that you can get, increase your and club’s reputation, and assistant manager and youth coach who have excellent judging attributes.
Team Talk
Team talk is option which you might say something or not to your players in the match (before it starts, half time and at the end). Use staff which have good motivating and players management attribute to handle this, but always give them praise if they won the match and don’t be too harsh in away match.
Team Meeting
Team talk outside the matches, main purpose is to motivate the squad, use it only at appropriate time like in the start of each season.
Squad Selection
When season competition was on the way, select players select the players who have the condition at least 95%, lacking match fitness can be overcome by reserve matches.
Squad Discipline
Give warning to player who get red card, poor rating in matches and poor performances in training ground or your player will feel you have lack discipline control ability. It’s ok to give fine for player who get straight red card.
Injury
Injury is the most annoying problems in playing FM. Careful in choosing your training method and use at least four physios who good in determination, level of discipline, motivation and physiotherapy.
Affiliate Club
Solution to loan players and increase merchandise income. Select club that have better training facilities and manager who good working with youngsters for players loan, and select club who require the most expensive annual fee to be your affiliates (only need two, USA, Japan and China are good options).
